The most dangerous creatures on the reef are divers. The actions of one careless fin-kick or out-of-bouyancy-control photographer can wipe out an entire colony in a split second. When you look closely at even the smallest area of any reef, you will see it filled with life. All divers must keep in mind that everything they see there is a living thing and needs to be protected so that we can enjoy, photograph and share it for years to come. You can help to do this by following several simple rules.

    1. Never touch ANYTHING on the reef

    2. Don't feed the fish

    3. Control your buoyancy at all times

    4. Don't even attempt photography until you have achieved perfect buoyancy at all times and in all conditions

    5. Never sit or stand on the reef

    6. Make sure your gauges are not dragging

    7. Consider the size of your fins when moving about the reef

    8. Always watch where you are going and keep enough space between you and other divers to avoid collisions

    9. If you are not sure of your diving skills, take a refresher course

    10. Share your stories and photos with friends. It helps to educate them too!
